The gold and silver book design was originally created by Queen's Binder "A" for the binding of Richard Allestry's The Government of the Tongue. The delicate patterns on the entire cover have a wonderful balance, and it would be no exaggeration to say that this book is a shining jewel created by the times. The Queen's Binders were a small group of artisans in England during the Restoration. Although the name of this vendor known as "A" is unknown, there is no doubt that he has a high reputation for binding gift books using gold leaf.
